Bride's Gomesi

Its the season again.. to be exact there is no exact stipulated season for weddings and introduction ceremonies but its so common that around this time of the year most people are getting married.. Its just the season of so much happiness and family and friends togetherness. Its holiday time so celebrations start.
The gomesi cuts across most tribes in Uganda. I would also like to dare any bride outside Uganda to pull off this beautiful outfit for your traditional ceremony..

The bride's gomesi is everything that the crowd talk about therefore as a bride you must slay, stun and serve them with elegance on your day. In this blog will briefly explain and show you the latest trends of gomesi and the colors i wish that every bride should wear for her big day.

 Gold.
Go gold, go bold. Gold is one the ancient colors used especially by the Egyptians beauties (queens) as way of expressing their beauty. Its one color that puts you out there as a goddess of beauty. A bride with any skin color can pull this off well. One thing for sure with a gomesi in gold that it requires is less jewellery especially around the neck because gold is already so bright.
The beautiful wife of the talented Ugandan photographer Muhamed pulled off an all gold gomesi with a red belt and headwear. This is beauty at its best.

The two brides that use above are photographs by a talented photographer Hamuza Kaweesi. The first bride had a gold gomesi with some black lace designs and a red belt. the second bride had gold gomesi with a green floral designs and belt. This a very bold color combination. Green and gold dont usually but this bride proved us wrong. amazing. The fabric of the green belt is unique and very classy. Brides this year look out for such..

White gomesi
White and just about any other color work well together. Since 2016 the white gomesis are working for more functions than just mother's union. Brides are shining in white gomesis like angels.

This beautiful bride wore a white gomesis  with minimal detail and topped it with a gold colored belt. Its a very simple look but turns heads

Cream gomesi
Cream is the other white that you can opt for. Its just a smooth shade of color.

The very beautiful Cynthia, founder of Halo Collection in Kampala looked stunning a cream gomesi with silver crystals and a gold detailed belt. I loved and still love look.

Irene Ntale's sister (on the left) wore a cream gomesi with silver beaded designs and a deep red belt. She had just the right accessories for the it.. Beautiful!!!

Glamorous.
Look like a diamond. Shiny and glamarous. Am not very certain of the material of this gomesi but i loved it. and i wish that a bride out there this year can wear this kind of gomesi.

Peach.
Peach color is trending theses days. and it looks amazing. For a bride that dont want a bright color peach id the way to go. But you must uses a color of kitambala (belt) that is of much darker color to look stunning. As you can see below the bride used a peach white and black beaded gomesi with a black belt.

Brown.
Some people may think and feel that gold is so bright so ladies you can opt for brown. I predict that brown shades of gomesi will be trending in the next two years. This specially goes for the bronze shade of brown. The bride in a photo below just revealed the beauty of bronze brown. The bead work on the gomesi is one trending style this year as you can see the the photos below and above. Try out.

Pinky and lacy
Pink is girly. Soft pink shades are nice and beautiful. For people that hate pink just try lemonade pick, rose pink or taffy pink, they are great.
Lace, its always beautiful and displays a lot of royalty
The bride in the photo by Hamuza above wore a beautiful rose pink lace gomesi. She topped it with rose pink belt (kitambala) and simple silver jewellery with a crystal.

Organdy fabric
Its an extra fabric added to the gomesi. its lighter, looks almost like very light chiffon  but not its not. Its very beautiful. If you notice well most of the gomesis in this blog have an organdy fabric added.

so every bride this year, go big at your introduction/traditional ceremony.
